Marine weather & conditions

A practical starting point for checking the water, planning work, and finding the marine people you need—from Atlantic harbors to the Gulf, Pacific, Alaska, Hawaii and Great Lakes.

Explore the national map

Choose your marine region

Four broad planning regions make the official forecast network easier to enter. Select a region, then choose your exact NWS coastal, offshore or Great Lakes zone.

01 / Western North

Pacific Northwest & Alaska

Start with Washington, Oregon and northern Pacific waters; use Alaska’s dedicated zones for its much wider coast. Match the forecast to the actual operating area.

02 / Western South

California & Pacific South

Find California coastal and offshore zones, then verify local warnings and nearby observations. Hawaii has its own Pacific forecast areas rather than a mainland quadrant.

Northeast, Mid-Atlantic & Great Lakes

Choose the appropriate Atlantic nearshore or offshore zone—or a Great Lakes zone—then compare the forecast with local station conditions and active advisories.

Zoom to your location

Use a coastal or Great Lakes point for the nearest National Weather Service forecast. For offshore passages, choose the correct marine zone and check its watches, warnings and advisories separately.

Coordinates stay in this browser until you open the NWS link. Location access is optional. A point on land may show a land forecast; always cross-check the adjacent marine zone for winds, waves and hazards.

Enter a coastal or Great Lakes point above, then select “Show nearby conditions.” No weather data is loaded until you ask.

NOAA observations may be preliminary or delayed. Times shown in UTC for observations; tide predictions use the station’s local time. Check the source and current marine warnings before a decision.

Today through one month

A professional plan separates detailed short-range weather from longer-range probabilities. No credible monthly outlook gives a reliable day-by-day sea-state forecast.

From the forecast to the right contact

1 · Check the conditions

Look at your exact water, a relevant station, tide stage and any active marine advisories.

2 · Plan the work

Use the outlook for tentative dockage, service, haul-out, charter or supply timing; confirm details as the date nears.

3 · Connect locally

Search marine businesses by service and place, or describe a specific need so participating businesses can respond.

Ready for the next step?

Find a marina, mechanic, captain, yard or supplier near your destination. Businesses can claim and improve their profiles so customers find current information.
